Normally, when you share a workbook with someone who uses Microsoft Excel in a different language than you, the functions and formulas from your workbook are automatically translated by Excel.
However, if you directly insert a foreign-language Excel formula into your Excel sheet, Excel mostly can not recognize that. For example, let’s assume, you are using Excel in German or French, where most of the Excel functions have been localized. If you try to copy and paste an English formula from a forum into your worksheet, then this will not work. Or, if you developed an awesome formula in German or French, which you would like to share in an English forum, many users there would have to translate it.
